New Patients

When you call our office, we generally will ask you a few questions over the phone. Such as: What is the physical issue you are having? How long have you had it?, Did someone refer you to our office? What type of insurance do you have?  When would you like an appointment?

If you have insurance, we will ask what type you have and can often call for you to check your coverage, deductible amount, etc. Some new patients have had car accidents or work injuries which we handle regularly. Other information may be asked regarding these types of cases.

We are happy to fax you the standard forms needed to get started, or you can fill them out at our office. Check our link for forms in pdf format that you can fill out prior.  The first visit takes the longest amount of time, so expect to be here for about an hour.

After coming to our office and filling out your forms, you will be taken to one of our treatment rooms. Dr Thomas or one of his assistants will ask you questions about your problem, this is called taking a History. Next, Dr Thomas will perform a physical examination. If needed, X-rays will be taken in our X-ray room and these are usually developed and ready for use in a few minutes. Usually, Dr Thomas will then go over your exam findings with you (please bring in a friend or family member if you choose). He will explain what he thinks the problem is and whether he can help you with it. If so, care will generally start that day.

Home care instructions are given for heat or ice or maybe stretches or exercises. Dr Thomas strongly encourages life-long home care so that you can take care of your spine and body in a natural way and avoid problems. If you have any issues after the treatment, you can always call Dr Thomas for advice. He wants you to feel cared for and informed about your problem.

Prior to any future treatments, Dr Thomas will tell you his recommendations for care. For example, how many visits will be needed and how long it will take as well as cost. Any ongoing treatments usually take 10-20 minutes and usually include a short massage or stretch warm-up or possibly some physiotherapy. Then you will be treated  by Dr Thomas with appropriate Chiropractic Adjustments to the necessary areas on your body. Questions are encouraged. All care is done privately with modesty preserved. Dr Thomas regularly works on patients as young as days old up to his oldest, 95 years old. Since he also works on very fit athletes as well, his range of force will vary from very light, gentle care up to stronger, deeper care for his larger, stronger patients.

If a patient has any concerns about the type of treatment, Dr Thomas will modify the care to fit the patient’s concerns and comfort level. He is expertly trained in many different techniques so that he can meet the needs of a large variety of people.

Our staff is also happy to answer any questions you may have or help you with insurance, cash payments, scheduling, etc. Betty, our office manager is usually available by phone by 5:30 AM. in order to help you. You may also be speaking to Julia or Lindsey, our Chiropractic Assistants. Our goal is to help as many people as we can and as much as we can. Most of our patients come from referrals from other happy, satisfied patients. We hope to meet all of your needs so you can tell people who need help about the incredible benefits of Chiropractic.
