Kenneth A. Thomas, DC, CCSP, DACNB, QME (ret.)
I earned my Doctor of Chiropractic degree, Magna Cum Laude, from Life Chiropractic College West. I also trained and received my certification as a Chiropractic Sports Practitioner (CCSP). I then studied Functional Neurology under Dr. Ted Carrick, D.C., Ph.D., who is a world renowned Post Graduate Professor of Functional Neurology, a researcher, a chiropractor and a visionary.
In addition to my chiropractic studies, I am trained in Nutrition, Herbs, Massage, Tai Chi, Exercise and Swimming. After undergraduate studies, I worked in a busy hospital in Santa Barbara. It convinced me that becoming an M.D. was not for me. I saw no preventative or natural strategies used to help sick people. I believe prevention is the most important role in wellness, and that being a Chiropractor best enables me to help people. For a time, I worked both in a chiropractic office and in a hospital. I really saw the difference in the two philosophies of what a doctor is, and what and where healing comes from.
Outside the Office
My philosophy is to practice what I preach and therefore I maintain a regular exercise routine that includes swimming, weight training, daily stretching, hiking, eating a healthy diet and drinking lots of water. My wife and I have a goal to be very active well into our 90s. I have first-hand knowledge of the joys as well as the aches and pains that come from leading an active lifestyle. Chiropractic care, massage and good nutrition are how my family and staff stay healthy. I’m proud to say that I’m the Charter Member of the Coastside Tigershark Masters Swim team at Terra Nova.
My wife and I were not blessed to have children, but we do love to help children and to teach them and their parents good habits (she teaches 4th grade). Children face new challenges that we didn’t have to deal with. They need help so they will lead healthy, happy lives and help prevent the health problems that are plaguing today’s youth.
